New York Jets Head Coach Rex Ryan Ranked Seventh-Best Coach in the NFL
New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan was voted the seventh-best head coach in the National Football League by ESPN.com.
The boisterous, colorful Ryan has taken the NFL by storm in his first two years as a head coach, which makes it pretty impressive in my mind that he would be voted so high in the rankings.
Every single coach in the top 7 has won a Super Bowl championship except for Ryan and Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid. Ryan is also the only coach in the top seven who has been a head coach for less than four seasons.
Clearly, Rex is a rising star in the coaching ranks. In a poll conducted last November by Sports Illustrated in which active players were asked what coach they’d like to play for, Ryan ran away with the voting.
Ryan has done everything this offseason from comparing himself to Babe Ruth and guaranteeing a Super Bowl, to writing his very own book on coaching, which hits stores next month.
I think it’s safe to say, the Rex Ryan love-fest isn’t going away anytime soon.
